Packing list Oman

Here comes the ultimate packing list for your Oman vacation.

Some love it, others hate it, but nobody can avoid it – the big packing before the trip. Many questions arise, especially when you travel to a country for the first time:

How much can my luggage weigh? How many suitcases can I take with me? What about hand luggage and above all: WHAT DO I HAVE TO PACK?

First of all, some information about the luggage requirements. The regulations may vary depending on which airline you are traveling with. Basically, Arab airlines are quite generous. WithOman Air, for example, you can travel with up to 30kg checked baggage, divided into up to two suitcases. Another small piece of hand luggage is also allowed.

What do I have to pack?

Packing list Oman:

  • Passport (valid for at least 6 months)
  • Driver’s license (preferably an international one), health insurance card, credit card, etc.
  • Cash (it’s best to exchange some Omani rials in your home country)
  • Cell phone – most hotels have WiFi. If you want to be online and reachable on the go, you can buy an Omani sim card for little money at the airport
  • Adapter – super important. In Oman, the type G sockets are used. The mains voltage is 240 V at a frequency of 50 Hz
  • Travel Guide
  • Small dictionary Arabic
  • Power bank, if you want to charge something on the go
  • Charger that can be connected to the car’s cigarette lighter
  • Camera, accessories
  • Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen 🙂
  • Mosquito spray
  • Sunglasses and a sun hat if necessary
  • Zip pouch, preferably plenty. There is always something to pack.
  • Disinfectants (also for the time after Corona)
  • Flashlight for night hikes or the desert
  • Flip-flops, sturdy shoes, hiking boots, possibly water shoes
  • light clothing (e.g. linen), long-sleeved shirts (applies especially to women), long skirts, long dresses, long pants.
  • at least one thick sweater / jacket for the mountains or desert. Here it can cool down significantly, especially in the evening
  • For women: at least one scarf that you can use to cover your hair and/or shoulders.
